Mariel

In 1997, I was struggling for work in Los Angeles.  I had not yet found an agent and I was looking for anything I could put in my book to get work.  By unexpected circumstances, I got a call from a friend who asked me to do makeup on Mariel Hemingway for the cover of Alternative Medicine Digest.  I was so nervous to work with her but she was incredibly kind.  After the shoot she asked me to do her makeup for a friend's wedding and sent me a beautiful thank you card.  The images got me a lot of work for years to come and I'm eternally grateful to her.

Beau

In the summer of 1997, I was asked to do makeup for some test shots on a newly discovered young girl in Topanga Canyon.  Shy but lovely, she had perfect skin and was a joy to work with.  Little did I know that, in the coming years, Beau Garrett would become a successful actress and renowned beauty!

Karen and Erin

In 2002, I was working with Lancome Cosmetics in New York City.  My friend Ross Burton recruited me to be on the team for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and I enthusiastically agreed.  Excited to be working on my first runway show, the last thing I expected was to find Karen Elson in my chair.  Not even a moment after I was finished, they brought me Erin O'Connor.  Even though I was starstruck and a bit overwhelmed, they were completely disarming and incredibly friendly.  And of course, it was a pleasure to work on such gorgeous faces!
